Period Panties Size Guide in Pakistan: Measure, Choose and Check the Fit

A pair of period panties can look right in a product photo and still feel wrong once you move around. A waistband that digs in, leg openings that shift or an absorbent panel that does not sit where you need it can make an otherwise useful pair uncomfortable. Before ordering online in Pakistan, spend two minutes checking the measurements and the particular product's size options.

Measure your waist and hips

Use a soft measuring tape, stand naturally and keep it level rather than pulling it tight. For your waist, measure around the area where the underwear waistband will sit. For your hips, measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat. Write both measurements down in inches or centimetres, and check which unit the listing uses.

If you only have a piece of string, wrap it around the same areas without stretching it, mark the meeting point, then measure the string against a ruler. This is less precise than a tape, but better than guessing from a dress size.

Read the actual product options, not just S, M or L

Size labels are not consistent between brands. Some period underwear listings use waist measurements, others use hip ranges, and some use general letter sizes. Do not assume a medium from one seller will fit like a medium from another.

For example, Hygein's 4-Layer Reusable Period Panty currently displays waist-labelled size options from 24 to 44 inches. Those are the product's listed options, not a universal period-underwear size chart. Select the option on that specific product page and ask for help if your hip measurement or preferred fit makes the choice unclear.

Check how the underwear sits

Period panties should feel secure without pinching. The waistband should stay in place when you sit or bend. The leg openings should lie comfortably against the body without cutting in, and the absorbent area should remain properly positioned. A tighter size does not automatically mean better leak protection.

If you are between two listed sizes, look at the product's own sizing guidance and think about how the waistband feels during your period. Bloating or a preference for a less restrictive fit can matter. Do not automatically size down to make the underwear feel 'leak-proof'.

Fit and absorbency are different decisions

A size tells you how the garment is intended to fit; it does not tell you how much menstrual flow the absorbent panel can handle. Check the individual product's description for whether it is intended as a primary period product or as backup protection. Do not assume every pair offers the same absorbency or wearing time.

Also check whether the listing is for a reusable washable pair or a disposable period panty. These are different products, with different care and replacement needs. You can compare the options in Hygein's Period Panties collection and the wider Period Care collection.

Before placing your order

  • Measure your waist and hips in the same unit used on the listing.
  • Read the size selector on the exact product, rather than copying a size from another brand.
  • Check whether the product is reusable or disposable and what level of protection is described.
  • Check the shop's exchange policy before ordering several pairs in a new style.
  • If unsure, order a single pair to test the fit before building a larger rotation.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose period panties by waist or hips?

Follow the specific product's sizing system. If it lists waist sizes, use your waist measurement first, but consider hip and leg-opening comfort too. If it provides a hip chart, compare your hip measurement to that chart.

Will a smaller size prevent leaks?

Not necessarily. Too-tight underwear can feel uncomfortable and may pull the absorbent panel out of position. Choose a secure, comfortable fit and the appropriate absorbency for your needs.

Can I use my normal underwear size?

It is a starting point, not a guarantee. Different brands and styles fit differently, so measurements and the product's own options are more reliable.
