How to find out which period cup is best for me

1. Cervix Height

How to measure: During your period, wash your hands and insert a finger into your vagina to feel for your cervix (a firm, round, and slightly dimpled structure).

  • Low cervix: Shorter or smaller cups are more comfortable.
  • Medium cervix: Most standard cups will work.
  • High cervix: A longer cup might be easier to reach and remove.

2. Flow Intensity

Light flow: Small-capacity cups (15–25 ml) are sufficient.

Moderate to heavy flow: Larger-capacity cups (25–40 ml) help reduce how often you need to empty it.

3. Pelvic Floor Strength

Weak pelvic floor: Softer cups are easier to insert and remove.

Strong pelvic floor (e.g., if you do yoga or have no issues with tampon insertion): Firmer cups stay in place better.

4. Cup Size

Small cups: Generally recommended for people under 30 who haven’t given birth vaginally.

Large cups: Often suggested for people over 30, those who have given birth, or anyone with a heavier flow.

5. Material and Firmness

Soft cups: Good for sensitive bladders or those prone to irritation.

Firm cups: Better for active individuals as they pop open easily and stay in place during movement.

6. Lifestyle

If you're highly active, consider a firmer cup to prevent leaks during intense activity.

If you're sensitive, softer cups might feel more comfortable.

7. Personal Preferences

Consider the cup's stem shape and length for comfort during removal.

Some cups have textured grips to make removal easier.

8. Trial and Error

  • It might take trying one or two different cups to find the best fit for your body. Many brands offer sizing guides or quizzes on their websites.
